Earlier this month the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA.gov) Eastern Pennsylvania District Office announced its 2022 Small Business Week Award Winners and Cedarville Engineering Group was recognized.

SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania Small Business Awards winners are selected from among nominees located across Pennsylvania’s eastern 40 counties. The local recognition is part of the annual Presidentially-designated National Small Business Week, Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship, taking place May 1-7, 2022.

CEG was named Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year in the Eastern Pennsylvania District for 2022.
“We know there are so many incredible Women-Owned businesses in eastern PA and many right in Pottstown where CEG is headquartered,” said April Barkasi. “It’s a great honor to have been selected to represent that group in this unique year.”

Cedarville Engineering Group is turned 12 in 2022 and the small recently rebranded to reaffirm their commitment to existing and new partners. CEG is a diverse group of professionals– a proven team engineering, environmental, construction, and geospatial experts expertly collaborating to deliver sustainable solutions to any infrastructure challenge, anywhere in the country.

2022 will be a milestone year for CEG. This distinction underscores new energy and decisive momentum for our business.

Barkasi founded the company in 2010 and has since grown it into a competitive civil and environmental engineering technology and construction company with commercial and governmental clients across the country.

“For more than 50 years, SBA’s National Small Business Week awards have recognized the achievements of small businesses and the organizations that assist them in eastern Pennsylvania,” said SBA Eastern Pennsylvania District Director Steven Dixel. “Each business is exceptional and deserving of recognition as they have demonstrated their resiliency and resolve to create and deliver products and services impacting our communities and economy post pandemic.”

Cedarville Engineering was selected for the award, one of seven presented by the district, from among a group of nominees located across 40 counties.

“2022 will be a milestone year for CEG,” added Barkasi. “This distinction underscores new energy and decisive momentum for our business.”

During National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognizes and awards outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from around the country. Additionally, recognition and educational events throughout SBA’s 10 Regions and 68 Districts will be held throughout the month of May.
