Bradley Pond Improvements

Pond Structure Restoration and Improvements.

CEDARVILLE Engineering Group, LLC (CEG) was retained for the design and permitting for improvements to an approximately 4-acre pond located in North Coventry Township, Pennsylvania.

The scope of the project included design engineering, plan preparation, PADEP Letter of Authorization (LOA) Application, and CCCD Erosion and Sediment (E&S) Control Plan Review Application, and construction inspection services.

This project involved the replacement of the existing outlet structure and installation of two (2) emergency spillway sections, as initially approved by PADEP in 2007. Additionally, the approximate 270 linear foot (LF) outlet pipe was investigated, as was determined to need to be replaced and the pipe section under the dam lined to avoid excavation of the berm. The pond stand pipe was replaced with a 4’ diameter manhole due to past deterioration of standard metal piping. An 8” valve was installed inside the manhole so the owner can control the level of the pond if need be.

A Letter of Authorization (LOA) was obtained from PADEP and E&S Control Plan approval was obtained from CCCD in 2017 to perform the scope of work. CEG managed the bid process to aid the client in selecting a contractor. Construction commenced and CEDARVILLE provided inspection services to ensure the project was constructed properly and per the approved plans. The project was successfully completed by the end of 2017.
